About
I got my first camera around the time I got my drivers license, a combination that made for many adventures in the suburbs around Cincinnati where I grew up. At home, Dad taught me to develop and print black and white, and I even processed color transparencies from family vacations. On and off in college (Midwest) and grad school (Pacific Northwest) I continued to take photos, but the reasons for taking them changed when we moved to Delaware and family came along, and traveling to see family became routine.
I've shot Nikon, Cannon and Sony, mostly in that order. Things outside, alive or not, are my most common subjects. I live close enough to a pond and the ocean that water often makes it into the composition. I love to experiment with photographic processes, in camera and in post, to see what I can do that's different from others' photographs. And I'm still grabbing my camera and going on adventures, but going a bit farther afield these days.
